Folkston Funnel

While on my way to a business trip in Savannah, I allowed some extra time for a stop at the Folkston Funnel on Sunday evening. The weather was perfect! Within minutes of arriving the Silver Meteor raced through town to set the stage for the next two hours of fast paced action, including a fantastic show by the northbound Auto Train! The action is truly amazing, with a train about every fifteen to twenty minutes! During one passing of a southbound mixed freight, a northbound stack train passed through the Love Street crossing just as the last car of the southbound train was passing through! The action definitely lived up to all the hype! An excellent rail fanning location.
