A Broke in Two U.P. Coal Train Turns Into a Fallen Flag Feast For Me

Unread postby Ericmopar » Sat Jan 31, 2015 10:09 pm

Today on Jan, 31, 2015 I was waiting on a West bound unit coal train at Jean Nv, when I realized it was taking too long to get there.
When it did appear for a short time, I thought at first it was going in reverse... when there was nowhere to reverse too... Was I crazy? !*don-know!*
It turned out it had stopped and was backing up.
After awhile I got in the car and went back, to find my U.P. coal train had broken in two just East of Jean Nv. On level ground. !**duh*!!

It was a smorgasbord of fallen flags. Something out of a 80s time warp. Well... except for the Dash Nines.

Interesting. Along with the SP, even the UP loco has an older paint scheme. Retro all around. Nice find!

Given that it broke into two halves on level track, maybe it's a little too retro.
None the less, it sure brought me back to a time about 30 years ago. *!greengrin!*

What is the shadow stain in the background of the split train? It's in the picture above it too and others. It's a isolated spot on the left and a slightly diagonal vertical stripe to the right of it. I'm guessing a dirty lens? !*don-know!*

Could be. Thanks for pointing that out. It's so subtle that I hadn't noticed it before.
