Any N All interested in Amtrak P42 Locomotive

Unread postby Angelo » Tue Jan 06, 2015 12:49 pm

Hey guys this is for anyone interested in the layout and operation of the Amtrak P42 Genesis series locomotive. This is a documentary done by GE and is really comprehensive and really goes over a lot.

Viewer beware! It really shows all the flaws and how sad a model / replication of the P42 DTG made. But nonetheless a great view.

It's the p32 model. I don't see why people are so crazed over the P32 P42 thing, they're almost identical.

Other than the underbody, the exterior of both locos are basically the same. I think everyone only made a big deal about it was because DTG reskinned the wrong loco when they had the correct one to work with. !**duh*!! !!jabber!!

Yeah and the wipers being off, sounds, and motive power being incorrect(Fixed with FanRailers tweak), and you can clearly see the electric rail pick-ups. Its pretty amazing how these guys at DTG are "Railfans" and yet they make these ridiculous mistakes.

Its almost like a 5th grader turning in his science project to his English teacher and saying, "Well its close..." Yeah I don't think that would fly, yet DTG just continues on.

^ Having the third rail pickups might not be the worst thing in some cases. Amtrak has P32AC-DM's and those can numbered in the #7xx scheme for NEC scenarios.
