I actually rode the Durango to Silverton about 10 years ago. I think it's still operating today. Was quite fun. There is also a train out of Clarkdale Arizona, it takes an old narrow gauge route to an old mine then back to Clarkdale. I haven't been able to find it on the Net, I did that one about 10 years ago as well. It's a diesel, not steam. But it was still a lot of fun.

I can't believe what they have done to NYC. How can you just be so dilettantish and why did they have to merge it with the Pennsylvania Railroad and now these two once great railroads are destroyed. I just can't believe it!
