Yes, it's true. Not only has NS purchased ex-BNSF SD60M's which are being placed in the 6807 through 6815 number series, NS has also been purchasing second hand SD40-2's. The SD40-2's have been placed into the 3468 through 3584 number series, some of the ex-BNSF SD40-2's have retained their nose mounted headlights.

The ex-BN SD60M renumbered 6814 was through Conway last week in route to JBS.

Does anyone know if they'll convert these into sd60e's? Or are they only making regular sd60's into sd60e's.

Never been much of a fan of the triclops cab but they look quite sharp in that black NS paint.

And NS is still leaving the Triclops windows on the SD60M's.

It may be an eventuality, but I don't see it happening anytime soon due to the fact they are painting the Tri-Window Cab. Why waste paint on something you will replace soon?

What are the ugly short locomotives just to the left of the ex-BN units?

The green and black ones a battery powered test unit and the other one looks like a gp9b if ns owns any,
Also... That is not the 1st battery powered locomotive. CSXT owned 4 x5000s.

Currently the Crescent Cabs are only for the Standard Cab SD60's, but who knows what the future holds? Another question, how many GP38-2's, GP38-3's, GP40-2, GP59's, RP-M4C, SD40-2's, etc... will end up with a Admiral cab?
Cheers,

What exactly is the difference between an admiral cab and the cab currently used on the EMDs you listed? Or are they the same?
