The day were KCS Paint becomes rare is the day that Washington State loses its variety of power.

CP doesn't have the money to try this kind of crap. If they do, they sure as hell ain't investing it in their own capital.

They are deferring maintenance to make their stocks look better.

I have been hearing that about CSX for years. Deferring maintenance is in the eye of the beholder however I see none of that with UP and they are doing very good. KCS is the most low profile of the class ones for sure.

I say this doesn't happen, CP under Hunter Harrison has cut back on just about everything. Besides if you read the article CP's spokesperson says this isn't happening.

Didn't the government say that class one railroads can't buy out another class one anymore in fear of a monopoly? I could be wrong but I thought that was the case now.

that was the merger moratorium caused when the BNSF decided to try to merge with CN. It has since been lifted but no class 1 railroads haven't tried anything.

"It has since been lifted but no class 1 railroads haven't tried anything." You want to try that again in some kind of syntax we can understand please?
