Can you do a blue N&W HH SD30? Believe me there is a lot more rolling around in my head right now! You will have to be the one who says, " I think I have had enough"!!

Norfolk and Western had placed an order for 50 SD30s, numbered 1800-1850. Most got scrapped by 1975, but a few survived and are in museums. This one is in running condition. !*brav*!

Now you can put a "face" on things that would / might have been for the rest of us. Makes it a lot easier to think of other problems they would have had with the prototype had it been built. I hold the Southern close and dear to my heart. I was raised in a Southern railway part of the world wirh an L&N branch line there as well. Even my wife ( who could care less about trains ) commented on the N&W SD30. Ready for the next "wish"?? I love this!

Yes. You want me to do a blue & white F7 & GP7? And then do their brown and Gold GP7?

Actually an RS3 in the blue / grey scheme. If they had bought ALCO power instead of or along with EMD's the RS3 is what they would have bought. They would have had space for a steam generator. A few of the GP7's where painted in this scheme and equipped with steam generators for passenger service. Still lots more in my mind!

On it. !!*ok*!!
EDIT: Do you have a picture of the RS3? I looked for it, but I could not find it.
EDIT2: NVM. I found a great pic of a model I can use. !*brav*!

Sorry I do not. If you need info on NC & StL colors I can give that to you. Most people do not know about the actual colors.

Blue on the NC & Stl was a lght MRL blue. Grey was a dove or dark primer color. The brown color was actually red. WC red is very close. On the F units the bottom was grey with the herald on front with a long oval ,red, with "NC & StL" centered on the carbody. The top was blue with a grey stripe starting under the front window cab post all the way to the back just under the air grills. They had some GP-7's in the same scheme. The RS3 has been repowered with an EMD prime mover. That would really not be a stretch had they had them. They were controlled by the L&N who actually did some of that, especially with the S series switchers. I have quite a few books and pictures of NC & StL diesels I wished I could scan and put up. One of my mot prized is of a coal train in Tracy City Tennessee. 3 "red" GP-7's with about 75 cars.

Can you find anything on the Tennessee Central? I have a few thoughts for those as well if they had bought EMD's? I have always had a fascination with that road. The RS3M we will call it ( lol ) is really more interesting to me than any so far. Like I said before you can put into a picture what I can only roll around in my head. The colors don't matter so much to me...it does not have to be an exact paint match. If you need to know what colors you can always ask me! Thanks Noel!!
