Understood, I won't quote the President if it makes him look bad. I will be sure to limit my posts to whining about the media.

Do you not understand the difference between the media and making negative comments about political persons? If not I will be happy to explain.

I’m good, but I appreciate the offer. I just thought it was funny seeing people complain about misinformation from the media, when some of the worst examples of misinformation is from the government itself.

Get a grip... I am God Fearing Catholic who can't even go to Church. My wife has been laid-off. I work for an Airline with a bunch Planes sitting idle, having to go to graveyard shift with 20+ years seniority. To boot I had a relative die in Wash State Care Facility. But You know what, it is good to laugh about stuff, otherwise we would be in corner, in the fetal position rocking back & forth. The words of FDR from his first inaugural speech ring true today: "We Have Nothing to Fear but Fear Itself" **!!2cents!!**

Amen brother. After shaking hands with death several times during peace and war. I've found that humor is one of the best methods to relieve stress. It lights a small candle in each of us that makes those dark corners in our minds seem a little less pervasive. Charlie Chaplin said "A day without humor is a day wasted".

And we as a "race", the human race in its entirety has withstood more severe events than this. Just think before you act. Keep your head on a even set of shoulders. Remember you are the human part that makes up the "humane actions toward others". As someone much wiser than me once said "No man is a island..."

So a zombie lurches into a bar. The owner asks him "what'll have?" The zombie says "pour me a stiff one"

Why did the lonely zombie go to the cemetery? To see if he could dig up some company...

Two zombies walk into a bar, the third one ducks...

You can tell which zombies used to be rail fans. They are the ones walking around going "Trains, Trains..."

While I do not agree with a total lockdown, the dips where I live are going to bring it on us. Everyone is just going about their business like nothing is happening. As far as I am concerned, nothing is, but this behavior may provoke the Gubment into putting more restrictions in place.

I have posted this elsewhere but here is my **!!2cents!!** . Government has a tendency to find what they think are solutions in the "one shoe fits all" solutions. These never work. Never. Some places have little reason to have any kind of lock downs or quarantines or any other restrictions because there is little or no cases there. Other places have high numbers of issues and need to isolate. This probably gets down almost to a county to county decision making process always remembering here in America the government at the end of the day needs to read the Constitution before each edict. Travel is our biggest enemy right now and we need to only travel if it's really essential so we don't spread this stuff from areas of high activity.

Just for context, here's a link from the CDC covering the influenza flu.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm

From the article: CDC estimates that so far this season there have been at least 38 million flu illnesses, 390,000 hospitalizations and 23,000 deaths from flu.

I just found the above interesting, especially with all the covid numbers being thrown around. It helps to have some context / comparison to those covid numbers.

The thing is that Covid 19 isn't just affecting a few countries but is affecting the whole wide world which is the difference here.

I'm not sure about that. Influenza has been around for a number of years, and is spread throughout the world by means of global travel. Here's a link from the University of Edinburgh discussing global mortality rates for influenza.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6815659/

From the article: Until recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated the annual mortality burden of influenza to be 250,000 to 500,000 all-cause deaths globally; however, a 2017 study indicated a substantially higher mortality burden, at 290,000-650,000 influenza-associated deaths from respiratory causes alone, and a 2019 study estimated 99,000-200,000 deaths from lower respiratory tract infections directly caused by influenza.
