Real World Train Pictures

Grab a rock, have a seat, and talk about the real world of trains.

Anyone can stand at a crossing and take a photo, I find those more boring. Shots like your bridge photo are my favourite, where you can incorporate the train into a scene, I love those photos. Nice shot ET!

Thank you Jalsina and Drew!

The same old spots here in Chesapeake and Suffolk are getting quite boring, so I've been trying to find some other shooting locations to go to without traveling too far. Trains are far and few between here, especially in good lighting conditions!

Speaking of which, here's a photo I took standing at a crossing. This one was special though. A surprisingly classic Canadian scene for 2018. After dropping cars off in Guelph, a CN GMD1 with class lights on and no ditchlights, and a GP38-2W heads back to Kitchener.

Very nice catch... I saw one of those GMD1 locomotives in Aldershot, ON when I went up to Burlington. Didn't get any pictures because of the fence.

Jalsina - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer the "working away" shots rather than the scenic beauty ones!

Drew - your last shot is really great - a lot of grimy atmosphere.

Subpar screen grab from my phone, but here's a GP60 leading a southbound camp train from a couple of months back (October, I believe).
