Up here in New York, The governor has signed a state wide executive order that office staff at all businesses must be cut down to 25% of their office workforce allowed on site. Effectively anyone that isn't a top manager is either being sent to work from home or sent packing. The governors office is making exceptions to critical businesses like logistical services and any place that produces or sells medical related things and food.

I can't really complain because I am still working right now, the Company has taken some absurd steps to "stop the spread" of the TPDepletion virus. First off they are spraying bleach EVERYWHERE. You wont get the virus in the bathroom or locker room because you cant stay in there long enough to contract it because of the bleach fume. Second, they have removed half the chairs from the break room, with no more than three people per table. Anyone who wishes to isolate and go eat in their vehicles at lunch may sign in and out if they wish. Radio headsets are encouraged so personal interaction is kept to a minimum.

A lot of folks find this to be strange. I'm not one for having people up in my perimeter, so I find it quite refreshing. However, there is going to be one huge drawback. If a person on another crew gets the virus, they will quarantine the entire crew. That means my crew will be working OT until they return, which would be 14 days after their last symptoms. Lo and behold, guy off the other crew got sent home yesterday after his sister tested positive.

Am I to believe the same media who made us aware of these previous terrors?

Peak Oil
Burning Water because of Fracking
Global Cooling
Global Warming
Global Overpopulation
Global Starvation
Hole in the Ozone Layer
Killer Bees
Frankenfoods
3 Mile Island
The China Syndrome
Radon
Nuclear Winter
Stagflation
Asbestos
Lead Paint
Jungle Gyms
Concrete Playgrounds
Saturated Fats
Homelessness
30 Million Uninsured

And we had to act "RIGHT NOW!"

I lived through Disco, if you did too, you know what it was like...you couldn't escape it.

Dont even get me started on the role of media politics in all of this. The amount of disinformation that is spewing forth like a volcano is staggering. The public is in a panic because this thing is so blown out of proportion.

In reference to the media they truly agents of the devil. Screaming headlines about the beach closures here is the 'Read All About It.' I had to poke around for the better part of ten minutes to find that there were zero new cases in the county. Heaven forbid that we report anything positive.

What I found interesting is the rush towards guns and ammo, buying stores completely clean.

Those people who subscribe to 'In God we Trust', put more trust in piece of cold steel, afraid of hunger marches by the destitute and undesired?

.

I believe there is a passage in Nehemiah about doing the work of the Lord with one hand, while holding a sword in the other. We had a guy here get stabbed in a store over a bottle of water. Have no illusions that people who you consider your friend would kill you over a can of peaches it if meant their families go hungry. Now that may sound dramatic, but after the way folk have been acting over rolls of toilet paper, my faith in the goodness of humanity is a little shaken.
