So the I&O got two new OHCR SD40-2's awhile back. They hadn't led on the north end yet. It was 53 degrees yesterday and the LNL ran to Delta. All of this equalled win.

Espee? by The Owen Perry, on Flickr
First we shot them that morning going north at Hamler with IORY 9500(SD45R) in the lead. A few days prior G&W had patched out the speed lettering on the side which kinda sucked. After I went home and did nothing until I got a text that they were departing Delta southbound with the 4028 in the lead.

Our first shot of them was south of Liberty Center crossing the Maumee River on the former DT&I bridge built by Henry Ford many years ago. After that we stopped at a cemetary but I didn't have too much time to figure things out so I decided not to upload it.

Next we shot them crossing the diamond with the ex-NKP at Leipsic with the classic DT&I signals there. They were cleared without waiting over the diamond and through XN onto the Toledo Sub.

And the last location we went was just south of XN at BE 153.6 where the B&O CPL intermediates separate the blocks in between Leipsic and Ottawa. Once on CSX rails at XN they became Z867 until they got to DT&I Jct. north of Lima where they returned to their own rails. They wasted no time getting their train moving either.

Well, no American pictures from my side..

I made this Picture of the ex-NS 6400 (Dutch Railway's), with Raillion Sticker on it, at Zwaluwe (Netherlands). This Locomotive is Owned by DB Schenker (German Railways). They are nice locomotives to drive with, mainly used for Switching in the Rotterdam harbor and other Yards... Their also able to handle a 1800t train over a longer distance! The Yellow/Gray NS livery is almost gone, only 2 locomotives are left. How long? I don't know...but I don't think it will be long untill they also get the Red German color scheme like the rest of the remaining active fleet...

And yes, i'm allowed to walk on that yard, Since i work for the German Railways over here in The Netherlands ;)

Cheers,
Bob

I couldn't believe what I found, hundreds of miles from the nearest rail line, in the ghost town of Rhyolite NV.
It's not just U.P. but a Los Angeles & Salt Lake, Caboose!
It appeared to have been red, with white lettering and a aqua blue interior.
I feel like a railroad version of Indiana Jones! *!greengrin!*

Well, I haven't posted here in a while, so here are some of my catches from the last few weeks!

MARC P875 @ Kensington, MD - 4/19/14
Image

MARC P891 @ Garret Park, MD - 5/2/14
This was an interesting catch, for once I saw an older locomotive from MARC's roster, a GP39H-2. Long live EMDs! !*salute*!

Image

For the first time in years, I have seen NS on the CSX Metropolitan Subdivision. !*YAAA*! NS is even more rare than BNSF or UP in these parts, don't ask me why.... !!det!!

Image

Today, I also got to see the CSX #5000, the "Diversity in Motion" loco. I've seen #5000 on a westbound a few years ago over in nearby Kensington.

Image

Some great catches today! :D
