Railroads short on Motive Power?

Grab a rock, have a seat, and talk about the real world of trains.

Wow, its tiny compared to the GEVO.
"If you really needed a diesel locomotive right away, then go ahead and order a ALCO. But if you could wait for real quality, then go for an EMD or a GE".

Up here in NH, foreign power is the "name of the game".
I've photographed everything from BNSF, CN, CP, UP, NS (including heritage units), and even Conrail on our Bow coal trains (that was back when I was younger). Long before that there were D&H, PC, B&M of course and even NYC power. Always been an interesting assortment way up here. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen Guilford or Pan Am locomotives leading coal trains. Not to say that they haven't, but their shortage on heavy equipment and their agreement with NS means we get to see a lot of foreign power.

Nice pix Rick! I've seen some "foreign" power, on my recent tour, of the Central Vermont Champlain Division. !*roll-laugh*!
