Industrial revolutions

Grab a rock, have a seat, and talk about the real world of trains.

True, but you guys know how to preserve what's not going to run again. If I'm ever in the UK the NRM is on the top of my list.

Example: Here is CP #2929. The only 4-4-4 left in North America at Steamtown: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/pictur ... 042274.JPG

The tender has become a giant trashcan for the walkway above. Here's what it looked like in 1981 when it was actually pulling excursions: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... ?id=651495

This thread has strayed so far from the original post. !*roll-laugh*!

@styckx: Steam is on the "Yard Shuttles." A 2-8-2 pulling 2 coaches around the yard, lol. And 2317 will never run again. Needs a re-build and it's supposed to be done after #26 and #3713 are finished. **!!bang!!**

I could do that, but I'd need the coroner on hand with the meat wagon *!rolleyes!* !*lho*!

*!!thnx!!*

Gosh - I can still quote word perfect a very large part of the commentary from that TV show, 31 years later! It made a huge impact on the already train obsessed young McKenzie!

It is sad.. Here is some of the awesome work of our "National Historic Site For The Preservation Of Steam"

From my one, only, and last trip to this dump.

Remember, at a U.S. National Historic Site.. Run Canadian power! **!!bang!!**

Actually watching that has made me rather sad... So much of it isn't repeatable in today's health & safety obsessed Britain. And the site is now a shopping mall.

Bill, the condition of those supposed "preserved" engines and coaches is atrocious!
