From the videos I have seen and the sound that you get through the RailWorks version, they sound like Detroit 2 cycles to me. I have been around an awful lot of 12V92's & 16V92's. All 2 stroke diesels are "blower scavenged". A Detroit with just a simple blower is said to be "normally aspirated". They sold a turbocharged version that fed a blower (supercharger). They normally operated around 2300 - 2600 RPM. I always said that you could paint a block of steel Detroit Green. If you came back in a week, it would be leaking oil.

It's too bad that 55022 had to be taken out of service again in July. *!sad!*
They exist everywhere. You may not see them, but they're there. Awww yeeeaaaahhhh, 20% Cooler! /)

I think they just stopped it for normal servicing & inspection.

Unfortunately, no. It was returned to the East Lancashire Railway. It was only scheduled for chartered service between May and July.
