Sweet! Glad to see some UK things pop up on here. I may know nothing about (very very little) the UK rail network, but there is something about it I like.

End of an era today in Altoona, PA as ALTO Tower was shut down after 97 years controlling trains through town. All control going to the dispatch center in Pittsburgh.

Paul, I love your pics. I actually enjoy the UK routes and UK trains almost as much as I enjoy US routes and trains.

I want the City of Truro for RW! :) And Duchess of Sutherland is easily my favorite RW steam locomotive (though I like the LMS red Jubilee and the Tornado too).

Fresh from GE, CSX 3030 leads an older EMD south at Tontogany as it meets G009 in the siding.

After uncoupling from its cut of cars, the power of G009 run up to the signals in Tontogany as they meet a southbound. They would run around their train and go back south to Lima.

I don't know what the plans are with this tower but it doesn't seem to be coming down anytime soon as NS 6601 runs light across the diamond at Leipsic to get some hoppers out of POET. Train is L75.

Bard, that sounds like either you have a lot of friends in town, or you get in trouble sometimes.

I have a lot of county sheriffs as friends it's the darn Torrance police that don't like me. Heaven forbid, I have a tail light out! OMG!

Cool Euro-stuff! Cops are hit and miss around these parts. All over SE Wisconsin, it seems like the county guys are cool, but city/town/village guys have sticks in a rather unpleasant places.
