People are stupid all over but the Pacific Northwest with their eco-freaks are maybe worse than most.

While I read the article and thought "Holy Carp, what a bunch of idiots" please keep in mind what rivers, Love Canal etc looked like 50 years ago in this country until environmentalists started kicking and screaming.

My problem now, is they've created a little industry for themselves, and like all greedy capitalists, they are scheming to expand and make more money, at any price.
When people can't tell the difference between truth and junk science, they will quit listening and the corporations like Dow Chemical could end up dumping who knows what into our water and food again.

Oh BS. Love Canal was a problem created by a totally ignorant bureaucracy who built a school and a subdivision on top of a landfill that the corporation who put the stuff there (Hooker Chemical) told them not to build there. Granted by today's standards the chemicals were not stored safely however at that time the state of the art was followed and the law was obeyed. If you don't know the facts don't create a narrative. This is exactly like "hands up don't shoot." A load of HS.

And how is "Hands up Don't shoot" HS? Please, Buzz. I'm against police brutality as probably are most of you guys (And gals might i spare). All that movement is doing is trying to get people to recognize and stop police Brutality here in the U.S.

Lets change the subject here and get back to the topic at hand before this turns into a real war.

Lets call this good for now.

Hands up don't shoot is a lie. Anyone looking at the facts knows this. Eric Holder says so. What else do you need? That is a fact.

Yes... laws lobbied to ineffectiveness by the corporations in question.
How many black rivers, foamy rivers etc, for decades, does a gov need to do something about it?
There were rivers all over the US that a person couldn't even fish out of. A person doesn't need a PHD in biology to see the massive destruction that was going on for Christ's sake.
If someone doesn't pass a few laws in this country to protect things, they would flatten it all for a buck.

It's kida funny... The conservatives hate the "Green Terrorists" and the "unnecessary" environmental laws that get passed, but many of the biggest environmental bills are actually signed by conservative presidents like Nixon and Teddy Roosevelt. !*roll-laugh*!

You are mentioning two presidents that would not be considered very conservative by today's standards. Just as Bill Clinton in many ways wouldn't be considered very liberal by today's standards (signed Welfare to Work into law, proclaimed "The era of big government is over").

It not that conservatives don't want ANY environmental regulations, it's that environmentalists want WAY TOO MUCH of it.

A guy I know simply wanted to drill a water well on his rural ranch land cuz he had no running water (had to have it trucked into an onsite storage tank which gets expensive). He showed me the nightmare of hoops & regulations he had to jump through and follow .... not to mention the thousands of dollars he had to spend in various environmental impact studies and permitting. And even after all that effort and money out of pocket, there's no reasonable guarantee of it's final approval. All it takes is just one....local, county, state or federal government agency to have some small problem with it to stop it from ever happening. And then he's out thousands of dollars and has no well in the end. Gets no reimbursement for all that effort.

He eventually gave up cuz the costs were steadily mounting and the red tape was just dragging on and on with no clear end in sight. He said at this rate, he was either gonna go broke or have to take out a mortgage on his land.... all for a water well he might or might not have when all was said and done. So thousands of dollars spent and no water well to show for it. That's big government at work. *!rolleyes!*

How about this argument. There is no evidence that the event described by the guy who claimed to be there ever happened. Dozens if not hundreds of people came forward and said the giant guy was attacking the police officer. It was investigated by three separate groups of people including a grand jury and Eric Holder's justice department who sees racism everywhere and they turned up zippo. How's that for lack of evidence that it ever happened?
