Amtrak oil can?

This is an oddity for me. Would Amtrak pull their own fuel? I thought they shared facilities with other Class I's

Tagged onto a freight train, at the end of a engine lash-up to be shuttled somewhere, most likely DIT (Dead In Tow). Amtrak power on freights is not to common but it does happen from time to time. Back in the 90's NS were using Amtrak F40PH's as normal freight power on steel coil unit trains and manifests.
