Went railfanning at the Salisbury Wye, traffic was light, but I manage to hang out with other railroad fans and had a pretty good afternoon.

Nice to see a fellow NC railfan! I'm in downtown Apex every Tuesday railfanning, catch some good train building action there, plus a few through freights. I usually see the local at 4:30, the through freight/extra freight sometimes comes at 5 in place of the local, but usually at around 6:30-7 the through freight comes.

Kinda wish I asked what the rail crews were doing, but I didn't want to bother them, so from my guesstimate, they were inspecting the rail on the Wye and on the S-Line, seeing if any of them needed to be replaced.

Glad that downpour in the background of the first two images didn't pose any problems!

Great photos, you're making me miss the Charlotte area even more! My dorm in University City was close enough to the NS mainline to get rumbled whenever the big freights went by. *!greengrin!*
