BNSF has launched a new website for railroaders, railfans and anyone else interested in the railroad: "Friends of BNSF"

You can for example download wallpapers, ring tones, a screensaver and much more. There's even a chance to get the 2012 BNSF calendar for free.

I think that BNSF has seen an opportunity for better PR. Something that railroads have been lacking for years if not decades. As far as your question, you cannot get that information from that off of the BNSF site. You used to could go to the employee section and download ETT's & profile maps. Security I reckon.

I was talking to a CSX surveyor about 5 or 6 years ago, asking about track profile data, and he told me all that kind of info was pulled from public access after 9/11.

Kind of what I figured. You can always go the old route. If you know a railroad employee ask them to get you some of what you are asking about. You can also get some of that stuff off of at swap meets or ebay. I work with a guy whose dad works for NS. He gets me just about anything I have asked for. The only problem is that it is all Alabama Division stuff.

Unfortunately not. *!sad!*

But their video section is very interesting. There are even old BN documentaries from the 70s and 80s.
