Love old UK stock. Bet that thing could back up, couple on to some coaches and run a service the rest of the day.

If I remember correctly, with the exception of some broken brake pipes, yes it could!

I love the BBC Top Gear. The US one sucks.

Is the "new" US series still as bad as the others?

The new U.S. season sucks just bad as the first.. It's nothing like the UK series. The U.S. series is just three morons picking cars out of a junkyard and doing wacky road adventures that make no sense. They have a live studio audience that is useless since 5% of the show actually takes place in the studio. They really don't review new car models at all. Every new car is great, never much wrong with it ever. Because you know, can't pee on the bailed out auto manufactures!! I honestly don't know what the show is about. Again, it's 95% 3 morons driving junkyard cars and tell bad jokes. It's also terribly edited and fake.

Oh god yes.

Also: Not crossing safety, but something else Top Gear did with rail (among many): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZsb32AAuNI

I think you said everything that needs to be said of the US version.

Amazing piece! I loved the Jules Vernesque chaotic frenzy in the cab, with everyone yelling, shoveling coal and getting buffeted around.
Almost makes me want to try driving steam engines in RW.
I can't wait to know the res... wait, where is part 4? It's not on YouTube! WHERE IS THE GODDAMN PART 4 ?!?

Yeah, unfortunately part 4 was snagged by the filter and was blocked. Funny it seems that last part of the episode gets snagged by the filter on other peoples uploads as well. I have that episode saved on my DVR. The last frame when they reach for the controls is because of wheel slip at 70 mph. !*hp*!

My favourite one was definitely the race to the north, link quoted above. If you haven't seen it, it's well worth a watch!

Actually, I think those guys have a sneaking liking for trains - they do keep coming back to them...
