They have one that's been at the Tehachapi Depot Museum for awhile.....another at west Cable .... and the newest one that went live about 2 months ago is at Tehachapi Loop.
This newer one has big solar panels, a weather monitor (temps, wind direction and speed), sits way up on a mountain, can move, zoom and see as far west as Woodford and as far east as Marcel. It tells you the average amount of trains that pass through and what the ratio of BNSF to UP trains is....currently 2:1 at this point. It's on 24-hours like the other two and goes to IR nightvision at night like the west Cable one does. The Tehachapi Depot Museum stays in day mode all the time due to the good lighting near it. It also allows for chat among viewers and has playback for the last 12-hours.
Also they bought a drone for this project aswell. You can see the derailment at Woodford from their drone video in October.
We just watched a smoking bearing on a car as it was going down the loop and the train just stopped in Woodford siding to deal with it.
