Amtrak Talgo Sets: What's it like?

Unread postby ZekTheKid » Sun Apr 15, 2018 7:06 pm

For all you fellow members up in the Northwest US and very Southwest Canada. If you have ever ridden in an Amtrak Talgo set, what's it like? I'm heading up to Seattle for my summer break, and will be taking a train up to Vancouver (to see the sights along the way), so I'm need some first person insight on what to be prepared for when taking a Talgo train set.

Pretty comfortable. They’re usually not too late compared to long distance trains. The ride is a lot smoother compared to amfleets or superliners.

Do the windows open on the doors like the superliners?

Nope. It's all enclosed.

From what I heard, the ride over Jointed Rail (Which there was some about 5 years ago on the Bellingham Subdivision) is really rough. Other then that it will be a smooth ride. If you are coming up for summer break you might ride on the new alignment through Dupont. If you don't, however, then I suggest you get pictures of the coast line.
