Laona and Northern

Unread postby shicoe30 » Sun Jul 03, 2011 1:09 pm

My buddy Brandan and I paid a visit to the Camp 5 Lumber Jack Special steam operation in Laona, Wisconsin yesterday. We rode the first train out and stayed to photograph the rail and logging equipment on display. We then took the train back, a 30 minute round trip, and spent the rest on the day chasing it around sketchy dirt roads. Here's what we got. Video to come within the next week.

Very well done! Did you get to run the hand car? I visited there several years ago and they have a nice place restored. That is the location of one of the W. D. Conner Lumber Co. camps. They also had big lumbering operations in Auburndale, Marshfield, and Stratford Wisconsin. This is their only museum, though. Keep up the good work.
