W00t! Looky what I got! Christmas in June!

OK, a little backstory first. There is a retired married couple lives a few houses down from my building. Steve and Edna. Steve was wandering around a few years back, saw me working on my car. Asked if I could help him, his car wouldn't start. No problem. Corroded battery terminals. Changed them out, A few maintience item like vacuum hoses, off we go. I refused any $$$.

Ever since, I go to their house once or twice a week, just to see how they are doing. Steve is a Vet, an amputee, can't do a whole lot, tho he tries. Edna makes one mean pot roast, with all the trimmings. I have been fixing little stuff on their house ever since then.

Yesterday, on my visit, Edna's busy, out in the garage. Steve says "come inside, sit for a while" Had an ice tea and a sandwich.

Oh, crap, look what I got, you will not believe this!











I don't know if I wll ever take them out of their boxes, they are brand new. Never used. I can't believe it. Just so awesome to look at even! Wow!

Sweet! My Dad is keeping my Lionel save for the moment. When my two boys get a bit older I will pass it on to them. It gave me countless hours of fun.

Steve says he has a couple of building to go along with that LGB set. I'll prolly get them Friday on my semi weekly visit.

I wish I had neighbors who would give me model trains. Heck, I wish I had neighbors who had model trains at all. I don't have a layout at the moment, and my HO and N scale trains get bored sitting in boxes in the basement.
