Abandoned Railroads of the Black Hills

Grab a rock, have a seat, and talk about the real world of trains.

Abandoned Railroads of the Black Hills

This is my favorite railroading region, and have been diving into this since I found it earlier today. This maps out all of the abandoned railroads that operated in the Black Hills region of South Dakota, including most of the small narrow gauge mining lines.

So, I have the base route created for the CB&Q/BN High Line between Edgemont and Deadwood, including the Hot Springs and Keystone Branches with all terrain imported. Anyone with actual skills want to help me out in a group project? Had to ask.

If you need any help getting the terrain imported, I am happy to assist. Beyond that though, I have to keep plugging away on my own route. Let me know.

Thanks, I have the terrain and markers already, am struggling with how to change the base textures and get going from there. Done it before a few years ago but have since forgotten all.

There is a book "A High Line Scrapbook - The Burlington's Branch to Deadwood" by Greg J. Walters and Rick W. Mills that was published in 1986.

It is in my collection.

The terrain looks pretty good, wish there was a magical "Paint from Google Maps" button.
