San Fransisco Now & Then

Not railroad related, but I thought somebody might find this interesting (it's probably been blagged from elsewhere so apologies if you're already seen it).

"Life is like a journey, taken on a train
With a pair of travelers at each windowpane.
I may sit beside you all the journey through,
Or I may sit elsewhere, never knowing you.
But if fate should mark me to sit by your side,
Let's be pleasant travellers; it's so short a ride."

Thanks for that Bob. It's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. I went right after the Loma Prieta earthquake and saw a Niners game in CandleStick Park. I saw the biggest c-clamps in my life holding the upper deck together that I have ever seen. And don't get your rented T-Bird airborne on those jumps like the movies. " Uh, Hetrz, there is something wrong with your car". I did drive away and keep going just fine, another one off the bucket list. !*roll-laugh*! !!*ok*!!
