Remembrance Day

Grab a rock, have a seat, and talk about the real world of trains.

Remembrance Day

The railway I volunteer with, called the Waterloo Central Railway and runs between the St. Jacobs Market and Elmira, Ontario, got special permission to run our train into downtown Waterloo to be at the remembrance day ceremony, it was special because there is a LRT system being built which cut us off from Waterloo. We offered a free ride for all veterans who wished to come aboard and watch the ceremony from our train. It was quite the experience, and probably the first and last time our steam engine will run over new rail and concrete ties. I also got my first recorded steam time in the engine as I got training on being a fireman.
