While some friends and I chased the Ontario Southland Railway's Guelph Junction Railway Job followed them down to one of the industrial spurs in Guelph, the conductors said that PDI, a big customers for OSR and the city of Guelph, asked them to lift some cars that had been sitting there for close to a year, the crew understandably didn't want to. The tracks have become so full of mud they were hardly visible and where they were visible it looked like more of a creek than a rail. As they, and us suspected the lead axle on the reversing truck jumped the tracks because of ice and they spend 1:30 hours trying to re-rail it but the soupy mud made that impossible, they asked my not to upload any photos of the derailed car so I won't but I thought I'd share what the tracks looked like.
