Complicated starting sequence

Some people complained about the complicated staring sequence of some locomotives.
What would they say if they had to start this vintage bulldozer, which requires a "pony engine" to start the main diesel?
A beautifully preserved piece of equipment, by the way.

This is sorta the way I remember dad starting our old D8.
Pony with ether and hand choking the pony till it quit.
He used a rope to crank the pony, never had a electric start.
I got to carry the rope. !!howdy!!
