Sad news...

Grab a rock, have a seat, and talk about the real world of trains.

Sad news...

Saw on the evening news that a BNSF train hit a BNSF crew van near the Kelso Washington yard, At least two of the crew in the van were killed....

As my son says, "he with the most lug nuts wins..." or in this case the one with the most wheels won, although that's a sad observation. I'm sure no one involved felt like they won anything!

I just can't imagine how a rail crew transport drive could have missed seeing the on coming train...

I was listening to the Vancouver/Columbia River Area, WA stream from railroadradio when I overheard UP dispatch talking about a "fatality on the BN."

Condolences to the families. Just another point that working for the railroad is a dangerous field to enter into.

Terrible. My prayers go out to them and their families.

I'm sorry to hear about that. *!sad!*

The fact that it were BNSF employees really arises the question how this could have happened?
Probably a chain of unfortunate events as it is in most cases.

It is very sad. And the truth of what happened may never be known. An unguarded crossing of multiple tracks, could have been idle box cars blocking the van driver's view. No horn or bell on the loco and bam. *!sad!*
