I fully support the OP's position on this matter.

My team won. !*brav*!

I also found out, that a Gov grant allowed a small branchline known as the NorthWestern Pacific to reopen. So in effect, a tiny piece of Southern Pacific lives again.
The NorthWestern Pacific was a subsidiary of Southern Pacific which is why some of the engines still wear S.P. liveries.

Boosted: Not nearly enough. A small portion from Schellville to Windsor via Ignacio Wye (Novato). The line has been open for the past 5 years. What the government did for the railroad with regards to "opening" the NWP was done several years ago; what the government did recently was to allow the railroad to ignore the lawsuit by the "city" of Novato against the railroad that required the leasing of the RJ Corman Genset. Also, this now paves the way to reopen the line from Windsor north to Willets over the next decade. The next step now is to push north to Healdsburg.
