Railroad X simulator

I was browsing Steam and found this Railroad X version released in June. Saw no one mentioned it, so I posted. It certainly doesn't look like it's as good looking or as sophisticated functionally as Railworks, but it might interest someone. It does seem to do vehicle ribbons better than RW. Much smother vehicle turns and animation. The particle effects are decent and the vegetation blowing over by a passing train looks cool. It looks very Trainz like in general. The USA packs are unlicensed paint schemes and contain older EMD and GE locos.

For what it's worth, here's the basic URL: http://railroad-x.com/ , but the purchase site is here: https://eepshopping.de/index.php?lang=2#sortiment1,1 , and it's also available from Steam (but without any indication of which version you're buying: http://store.steampowered.com/app/251020/ . The eeshopping site is in German and I couldn't get a complete page of anything in English, no matter how many times I clicked on the British flag. Almost all of the product titles and descriptions are in German and there's no indication as to the presence of English in them.

More than resembling Trainz, this product looks like a clone, or perhaps worse. The only thing I found intriguing in the least is the inclusion of animated livestock, which I've always thought would make a great addition to TS (look, some of you go ecstatic over barely visible town scapes, I prefer cows, goats, sheep, the occasional dog, and, hey, while I'm on a rant, where are the pigs?).

Too obvious!

Seriously (you bet), great comeback.

Does indeed look like an older Trainz release, now obsolete with Trains NG due out. The locomotive look like to be from JointedRail, which means they are OK.

There are more Trainz clones from Germany, ProTrain Pro being the most current I believe. Crude and sophisticated at the same time.
There is a real electronic time table in the PTP BR101 and some other units. Meaning the LCD displays are live, powered by a Linux virtual machine.

I found this: "Because of license rights these models do not include the original names and logos of the railroad companies. These logos and names can be set-in by the user for private use."

How is one supposed to do that? Repaint the models or a simple texture swap?
I am not spending my money to find out ...

EEP (aka: Railroad-X) has been around for a dozen years or so and has seen several changes. Nothing about it interests me though, as it has virtually no US-based assets and not much in the way of quality freeware, requires Rhino-3D for modeling purposes, and that reviews on the program are mixed.

EEP, where you have to pay for every blade of grass or leave of a tree. I perused that program long ago and found at that hardly anything was available for free then.

Rhine-3D? Are we really better off with Amabilis 3DCrafter? I would like to learn some simple 3D modeling, so how about Blender?
