RS1 question?

I have been following the Lakeside thread and cannot wait to buy it (route looks awesome and would love to contribute to RWA any way I can)! However, I know little to nothing about the RS1, other than it is rare and, well, old. Did operators ever run it long-nose first, or just conventional? By the time the route comes out, I'd love to be fully immersed in this era of diesel *!lol!*

They were set up for LHF almost always I think. It is powered by an inline 6 539T. The engine is well known by its distinct whistle from the turbo charger which is very large.
