RS1 question?

I have been following the Lakeside thread and cannot wait to buy it (route looks awesome and would love to contribute to RWA any way I can)! However, I know little to nothing about the RS1, other than it is rare and, well, old. Did operators ever run it long-nose first, or just conventional? By the time the route comes out, I'd love to be fully immersed in this era of diesel

They were set up for LHF almost always I think. It is powered by an inline 6 539T. The engine is well known by its distinct whistle from the turbo charger which is very large.
