1937 EMD E1 Request.

Unread postby jpetersjr » Tue Jun 19, 2012 2:16 pm

Here's a train that would go perfect with your E series trains and would also be excellent in Railworks. This was the first streamlined diesel locomotive to be built in the US in 1937 and was the first E-Unit of the series.

It would look great running freight or express with your E7,E8 and the E9.

Here's several vintage photo's of it, there aren't many left, the engine would have been very similar to the later E-Units and the F-Units.

And here's the only real cab photo available for the engine.

A nod is as good as a wink for a blind horse.

It is already on the agenda.

I can't wait to see this in the game.

I also hope there will be a freeware version of it like the E7 and E8, but I'll also be buying the payware version later at some time.

This will go perfect on my 1930's route, might actually base it in 37 so this can be used.

Some more photo's.

Never mind the request, I've decided to attempt to build the E1 myself.

Here's how my first try in 3D Crafter is looking so far.

Been figuring out how to shape the beast correctly to get the sleek streamlined look.

If you can get the streamlined look down, I'll take a Burlington Zephyr next please! :D No joke if someone made that it would do well as payware even. Very few great streamlines.

Request 1937 EMD E1 Info

Unread postby LaneTower » Sun Mar 16, 2014 4:28 pm

Just joined and saw the 4 pictures of a actual model of an E1 on the tracks. Could someone please tell me; what scale is it? Who is the manufacturer? Model or Part#? Have you seen an EMD E1 by any other manufacturer? Scale? I would really appreciate everyone's help. *!!thnx!!*
My reason for wanting a scale engine is that I have a portrait of the EMD E1s that were presented to the PRR. Will post the picture is someone would tell me how to add a 640 X 480 jpeg to my post.
