A minor request for the artist

Unread postby MadMike1024 » Mon Apr 02, 2012 12:46 am

I have encountered an issue of no great import, but I would appreciate it if you could find the time to make a full length handrail with no drop step ends for the NW2, SW9, and the SW1200s. Two models I'm doing were so configured.

While you are updating, please take a look at the location you are taking the headlight texture from for the SW1200. It appears to be coming from the frame swatch rather than the marked headlight swatch. I was doing an ATSF yellowbonnet switcher, and the headlights came out dark gray (my choice for the underframe) instead of the correct yellow I used in the headlight swatch.

Thanks

Update: This applies to the SW9 and TR5 sets as well.

Another minor thing (easily fixed for me, just create a second template for the cabview); Apparently you have reversed the way the roof template on the SWs is drawn onto the model. The exception is for the cab view, and it's drawn with the old orientation This applies to the SW9, the TR5, and the SW1200s.

Thanks for the feed back. I will swap the frame colour to the headlight swatch. It is easier that way!!

Found another oddity today. The back support on the SW series short side handrails is drawing it's color from outer space (or some other place I can't find). Several examples are in the switchers WIP thread. Best example (it should be black, not pink):

This is a major revision request: Would it be possible to remove the hood handrails and clips from the main texture, and make them part of the short handrail child? A long handrail loco didn't have the hood rails.

Hmm. Can do but the pictures on the above mentioned thread DO have side rails AND rails along the hood !*YAAA*! !*cheers*!

I had better go back over my to do list and see what is left to do.

While I was away I worked on a new SW1500. I know there is one out there already, but I have done ARR and Flexicoil versions.
