Here is my Russell snoplow upgrade and a video to give you an idea of what you get.

Upgrade

This is just for fun, not particularly authentic!!!

You will need the free ware part of my RS3 kit (#8) installed first. If you have my original plow pack remove it first.

To enable other locos to use the plow features you will need to edit their engine.bin file, lua file and input mapper files.

If any one can get the sound to work please let me knw how. *!!thnx!!* Oh, and any other improvements too.

Dick !!howdy!!

Now, Papa and I are almost done with the 'Snowfighter' SP GP38s. I'll add the code for the plows to them! Thanks...

Snowfighter GP's? With those icicle breaker bars on top?
Will you model the complete engine, rotating circular windows, winterisation hatches, air intake hoods and all? That would be awesome and it needs to be literally buried in snow on the pilots and gangways.

Is there any loco with those special bay window extensions to the cab windows available? You saw those on many Montana, Wyoming, Washington, Alaska and Canada locos operating in severe winter conditions.

The GP38-2s for SP had variable radiator fans, and didn't use winterization hatches. They will have the breaker bars (done), the windshield protection screen (done), flashing beacons (done), and the filter hoods (not finished). The circular windshield things are possible, but they won't show from the inside, so until we can figure out how to hack the cabview, probably won't get done for now.

You cannot swap a wiper for the rotating window so its outline shows from the inside? Sure, the water on glass effect is wasted, as those circular windows rotate so fast they are always clear. Just like on ship's bridges where the captain needs to see the bow of his ship no matter how stormy the weather.

Regrettably, the model is not being supported by the original author, and the .geo file is too big to re-compile anymore. So, no rainy glass, or other special RW3 items.

I haven't looked at the cabview yet, it may be possible to do it there.

Hi all
HELP. I've installed the snow pack but can't get the animations to work. M shift M does nothing and the 3mph and 7 mph snow animations don't work either. The 15+ where snow flys everwhere does work. I removed the or MOW folder B4 install and did the remove cache bit but no joy. Any ideas wouldbe great.

Regards and merry xmas to all....Phill

Are you using the SP RS3 to push the plow?
