The final RS3 upgrade upgrade

Unread postby KCJones » Wed Nov 02, 2011 6:03 am

The final RS3 upgrade upgrade so far anyway. I hope this is the last one for some time. !*hp*!

The big difference is wet windows all round.

Thanks Dick. I take it just the packs have been updated and the previous Upgrade only files are no longer necessary.

Yes. All the files previous to these are now redundant. The loco shapes have been updated as have the cab files. The engine bin files also, to get the wipers to wipe away the rain!! and to get mouse control.

Thanks Dick! Are the files available now? As you may have seen, I have 6 (and maybe a 7th) repaints ready to go for these. Looking forward to the updates.

I found a bug.

If the window is open I don't get wet.

No no no!!! That is the water that was on it BEFORE you opened it. !DUH!
Actually I did spend some time trying to get it to wipe off but, as yet with no success. When I have finished all my other upgades I may go back to the problem.
BUT as the side windows are now they were wet BEFORE you opened them. Note I HAVE got the drips running the correct way when you are moving forward!!! !*brav*!

Now a drip counter not a rivet counter!!!!!!! *!lol!*

hehe, I think you missed my meaning. I was alluding to that the rework looked so good I was expecting to get rained on when the windows was left open.

I just found that the missing texture error is still there on the RSC3 center axle brake shoe. Everything else looks good.

I have found the problem!!
In the RSD5 engine\textures folder is a file rs3-02.tgpcdx. copy this into the RSC3 engine \textures folder and it should fix the problem.
For some reason the RSD and RSC trucks were partly missed when I altered the textures!!!! As I said earlier. Too much time out in the rain!! !DUH!

Works fine! Continuing to put the finished models together, 3 down, 3 to go.

Edit: Oops...

Code: Select all
<WiperPairs>
      <cControlContainerBlueprint-cWiperPair d:id="55708256">
         <SlaveToAnimationA d:type="cDeltaString">Wipers</SlaveToAnimationA>
         <SlaveToAnimationB d:type="cDeltaString">Wipers</SlaveToAnimationB>
            <TextureID d:type="cDeltaString">Britkits\Alco\Railvehicles\Diesel\RS3\Default\CabView\Textures\[00]rswinwmotion_nm</TextureID>
            <NormalsTextureID d:type="cDeltaString">Britkits\Alco\Railvehicles\Diesel\RS3\Default\CabView\Textures\[00]rswinnorm_nm</NormalsTextureID>
         </cControlContainrBlueperint-cWiperPair>
   </WiperPairs>

This is in the RSD5 .bin file. If a person uses search and replace to change from \Default\ to say \SP-RSD5\ the directory accessed becomes invalid and stops the animation. I simply replaced \RS3\ with \RSD5\ and all works as expected.
