I can't claim any credit for working this out. It was a topic on the 3D Crafter Railworks forum that I picked up.

Other than the raindrops being rather large it looks quite good. (Perhaps you have big raindrops over on your side of the big pond)

YAY!!! This looks fantastic, Dick! Thanks ever so much, and I must say I really like that you started the updates alphabetically, ALCOs are just so cool. *!lol!* Your new version of the RS3 is really fantastic.

BTW, could the size of the raindrops be dependent on how away from the wind screen the camera is located? This is just speculation, but I can imagine that these raindrops have a fixed size on the screen, so they will then appear larger when viewed from further back.

Cheers,
Michael

I think it is more to do with the area of texture used. The RS3 cab was done from about 25% of a 1024 x 1024 texture. My first experiment and I couldnt be bothered to re map the glass. The following is from 75% of a 256 x 254 texture. Much better!!! !*YAAA*!

I'd guess that it will be a simple file replacement. Even if it takes more than that, we'll get it done. I really can't believe how nice the new features are, even if they did break some things. Once the new models are released, I'll roll out the ATSF RSD5, and the SP Black Widow RSD5. I have also found that the SP had some of their RSD5s painted in bloody nose! Since I did a bloody nose rs3 for the SSW, it'll be a snap to recreate that. In the works for this fine model: Northern Pacific RS3, Milwaukee RSD5, and a few others on option (curses on PapaExpress for finding the DRGW RS3!). !*roll-laugh*!

The window rain only affects the cab windows. The only thing that may affect reskinning is the autonumbering. I am introducing the TrainDecal.fx shader which gives a better finish.

Dick,

I know you're busy with the updates, but I would love to see your Alco S1 or S3 models in Railworks. They were well done in MSTS and I think would be popular here.

As long as we can still use the custom numbers we have created, No problem.

That rain effect is good! Now the only thing missing for a real experience is the rain being pushed by the wind on the windows with the trains speed.

I myself would like to up this. Would love to see some more of your engines in the game, especially some with a freeware basic version to go with it. It's always good to see something new.
