Ah, okay. I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing it!

Definitely looking forward to some repaints. I might try my hand at some too. I really want to see what can be done about the truck textures.

What I might do is make the correction to the alpha and post it in the file library here (unless Mr Cowen would like to included with his model).

Try downloading the basic files again because you should get something similar to THIS !*salute*!

I downloaded the basic file two nights ago. Did something change?

I downloaded the basic pack about 15 minutes before I first posted about the problem. I made sure I completely deleted all the old files in my install and started from fresh, too. The headlight is also different (its just a round lens with the one I downloaded), and if you compare the two posted images here, you see the wheel texture is very different - so I suspect some mixed up files somewhere.

Edit: I just noticed theres also a transparency issue around one of the trucks, where the truck texture is surrounded by a blackish colored frame, and the other one is fine. You can see part of it in my first image.

Yes the headlight will be different as my picture is one of the Xtra locos. BUT it is basically the same texture wise. I tried it in legacy mode and it still looks fine to me. Hmmm! I will try downloading the basic pack and see what I get. !*hp*!

Ah, that makes sense about the headlight. Heres what happens around one of the trucks. The black areas only appear at certain camera angles.

I think I figured something out: The models are NOT using the uncompressed (5mb) textures...they're only using the compressed DXT3 textures. I found the annoying pattern on the DXT3 1.3mb sized texture. To test this, if one deletes all the compressed textures, the model does not display anything except the "missing texture" banner.

I can confirm from last night that Mike and I had to use the compressed textures when repainting this model.

Bingo! For some reason, even though the GeoPcDx model is referencing the uncompressed (nm) textures, it will not read them, and is strictly looking at the compressed (nmc) ones.

Am I the only one getting the black boxes around the sander lines on the front truck? I cant fix it. It seems like a model error.

EDIT: I'm not the only one, if you look at KCJones' picture above, you can just make out the black boxes on the front truck (the most distant one).

Why are all the textures duplicated in the cabview folder and the fittings folder? No wonder the download was so big for a 'one livery' locomotive. Actually its not a one livery locomotive, it looks like we have textures for the LV, PRR, and LN available for us to use? They're included in the basic download. All you have to do is clone the locomotive and rename the textures, and you have other units.

But, I think i'm going to let this one go - too many issues with it and not much makes sense to me in the file structure.
