2-8-8-2 speedometer

Unread postby MontanaRails » Sun Jun 26, 2011 9:07 pm

Just noticed that the 2-8-8-2 speedometer indicates the loco speed incorrectly. Mid speed range, its showing about 20 mph faster than actual (according to the drivers aid). Any idea how to fix this? Is it a gauge coding issue or a graphics issue?

It is possibly a coding error. Try editing the speedo entry in the two bin files to 90 mph rather than 70 mph and see what happens.

Does the Driver's Guide (F3) show the correct speed? I usually don't drive in the cab, so haven't noticed this error. I also don't use the new HUD, I prefer the old one (F4 turns off the new HUD, then I hit F5 twice)

Yep that fixed it! Thanks Dick!

I think the new drivers' aid shows end of train speed, so if its a long train, it can be very different than the lead locos' speed (thats not necessarily a good thing though!). I think the old drivers' aid shows the lead locos' speed.
