F-Mega Pack error

Unread postby RickKfoury » Tue Jan 13, 2015 11:50 am

I downloaded the F-Unit Mega Pack yesterday and installed it today. Neither the F3A, F7A nor the F9 were showing up in game, so I re-installed the pack and when that didn't work, I re-downloaded and re-installed the pack to no avail. I overwrote the F7-db-RW3.GEOPCDX with the upgraded version included with the download but unfortunately that did not work either. This is the same problem which is happening with the 2-4-2T, and I was told that it is probably a problem with the sound files. However, to my untrained eyes all the sound files seem to be OK! Any help would be appreciated to get the Fs and the 2-4-2T running!

May I suggest that you contact the pack's creator at his BritKits website: why seek third-party advice when you can get it from the horse's mouth?

Good suggestion, I have emailed Dick. I wonder if this is exclusive to my case or if anyone else has experienced this with either pack?

Because this can get a little confusing about what version is what sometimes I try to save the previous version as a .xxx so it's still there but inactive and then D/L a clean new copy of the new version. I have not had a problem with any of these but it's been several months now since I got these.

I know this may be a daft question, but did you load the freeware pack first? I ask this because quite frequently this is the problem with my models and you would be surprised at the number of emails I get on this subject.. !!**sorry**!!

I don't want to embarrass anyone but many of my models are extra (Xtra) to the basic freeware sets. My web site does explain this.

This is a public service announcement!!!!

The locomotives just randomly appeared and were selectable but when I reloaded the TestTrak map they had disappeared once again... !*don-know!*

I noticed when in the editor, that things got rearranged slightly for this year's update. IE you may have to enable something that wasn't enabled before, but is connected to those engines.
Maybe you need to activate Dick's freeware models and/or something tied to the reskins for a particular scenario.
It could be sounds slaved from a Kuju folder for instance. You might have to enable Kuju/RailsimulatorUS for instance if Dick had used the default F7 sounds.
I've never claimed to be a graphics genius, but It seems to come down to a needed geometry ID file from somewhere. It's usually just a matter of figuring out what the "somewhere" is.

It might have to be enabled in the route editor rather than the scenario editor.
