Shay C missing lettering and odd quirks

Hello all,

I just got around to installing the upgrade for my C class Shay. I like the new look for the engines all told, but all the lettering went missing. I uninstalled the old than installed the new, and this was the result:

I tried installing the old one then installing the updated version on top of it, same result. I do not have the B-class shay, if it means anything.

Also, a few quirks I've found repeatedly with these locomotives, one is that when 2 Shays are coupled together in the editor, the "tenders" start to lean off the tracks as soon as you select the locomotive in the scenario. The train below was parked on a curve when it was placed initially.

Also, The 2nd truck of the shay will bounce around and derail if you hit a grade transition at a speed exceeding 15 MPH or so.

The quirks are things I noticed before the upgrade, but I never got around to piping up about them until now

If someone could assist me in remedying the lettering issue I'd appreciate it, the other stuff I merely wanted to point out.

Put the relevant bin file in the engine/textures folder. (They have the same name so DO NOT confuse them) I had forgotten to edit them for the C and B Shays so they pointed to the D Shay texture folder.

The other problem, I will look into.

Sorry I can't reproduce the problem. These were loaded on a straight piece of track though.

When I add the 3rd truck to the shay c and d they show in the scenario editor but when I hit play they do not like in this pic:

EDIT: Got it figured out. Just had to click Kuju\RailsimulatorUS in the flyout

Hmm. Thanks for that bit of information. I may still have something connected to Kuju stuff.I had better check all the bin files.

After some more extensive testing, it seems the tender issue has nothing to do with 2 engines being coupled, it seems to be that that curve's exact curvature doesn't work well with the tender, so more my problems as I built the route.

Hi Dick you posted a picture on this page with two shays connected to each other what is this route. I am looking for a route set in the past to run my shays. This looks like it is that. I want to run logging trains. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Sorry to bother, but i bought the shays a few days ago, and i'm also having the invisible trucks problem. I installed all the engine, and texture files, but the trucks still turn invisible when i run them in game.

Me too. I just bought the full logging pack. The Shay C tender (truck 3?) appears in the editor (albeit with missing textures showing) but is not there in the actual scenario, only the coupling and connector rod to the gears. What's more, it does not seem to be "deselectable", so once added (invisibly), the scenario is screwed up

I have copied over the files from the folder "Copy contents to engine folder"

I had upgraded the Shay C, but to my shame for some reason I didn't upload it to Dropbox.

I have now done so. Please re-download it ant let me know if it is OK.

On another subject. For those waiting for the BL2. It IS being done. I am working on the cab but very slowly. I am afraid real life is getting in the way, BUT I do intend to finish it.
