Question on safety valve venting

I can not (do not know how to) get the safety valves to work according to the pressure shown. I can get it to work as eye candy though. At the moment from when the engine is stationary up to about 5 MPH venting for 15 secs. every 60 secs. I can add a bit of randomness to this and change the frequency of venting, but have not done so yet.
The question is. Is this acceptable??
