A question for Mr. Cowen...

Unread postby MadMike1024 » Wed Nov 16, 2011 2:50 pm

I know you are up to your eyeballs in converting the rest of your fine models to TS2012, but I have a question: Is it possible for a user to edit the RS3/RSC3/RSD5 to be short hood forward? Southern Pacific had a large number of RSD5s, the early orders were long hood forward, the later part of the orders were short hood forward.

I know you'd need to rotate the interior 180 degrees, but not a clue how to tell TS which end is which.

All I have to go on is some outside photos. In them, the crew is seated, facing the short hood and operating that direction. I don't know if the controls were reversed.

Here is one that is a short hood forward. (the streak nose and number boards were always the front.)

What a great shot. Not only is it wonderfully filthy, but the complexity of the track is matched by whatever's going on with that road in the back!

In answer to your original question Mike, I don't think a user can rotate the controls ( well, the cab ) - all the animations have to be rotated also. The cab isn't attached in the blueprint with a location matrix like other child objects, it just sits where it was made.
