That is odd. I have been driving both shays on fairly tight turns with no problems. I have been testing on the Monarch line of Tennessee Pass route.

yes but on the monarch branch i can even drive the bigboy and the challenger down there. the shay should be able to take tighter corrners than that. look at my route in the WIP section, everything but the secondary branch should accept the 3 truck shay but it dosen't, the 2 truck version works fine but the 3 truck version dosen't. as i have been sayng the 3rd truck on the shay dosen't move like the real thing!!!

Thanks for the comments. I am working on the 3 truck Shay as I write. I have two options as I see it 1) adjust the rear truck pivot or b) Model the rear truck as a tender.

I am working on a) at the moment with some success (so far!!!! !*hp*! )

persionaly i would prefer it just to pivot on the loco but the easyest way would be to make it a tender.

It look like there's a drawbar between the water tank (third truck) and the rear truck much like a tender connection.
