Light Mikado - Misbehaving Numbers

Unread postby philmoberg » Mon Jun 16, 2014 11:46 am

I'm getting some really odd results from the numbers on the Light Mikado. I encountered tis problem wen I did a clean installation of the model and overwrote the old shape files with the new ones. I tried a second clean installation, in this case deleting the old shape files before installing the new ones. Since I haven't seen this posted before, I'm wondering whether it's something I did. Any ideas or other advice? Thanks kindly.

Yes it's something you did but we know not what. !*roll-laugh*!

I've seen odd numbering on many locos when it's the first one of that type down. After placing the first loco, place a second and then delete the first before continuing.
Cheers!

Are you sure that you don't have multiple locos in there? I just tested here and the numbers are working OK.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Nothing has worked so far. I even tried it with a new scenario, and I'm still having the problem with all four versions. FWIW, I originally had FXAA off, and since have tried it with FXAA and anisotropic X2 with no apparent difference. I appreciate your input.

Did you use the new textures?
Dick

(edit) Hmm it looks like a construction problem as I get the same effect *!embar*! *!embar*! *!embar*! *!embar*! It also effects the sand dome number.
I'll get down to it now!!!!!!

No new textures that didn't come with the clean installation, Dick. I did run the batch file to switch to the graphite smokebox and firebox. However, the numbers did this before I ran the batch file anyway. It also affects the sand dome on my copy, though I seldom use that.

I have updated all the Light Mikado shape files. They should work now. The cab interior is now a "child" part, but should not effect the running of the loco. It should not appear in the cab view, but if it does please let me know. *!rolleyes!*

Sorry to be a bit of a pest, Dick, but I'm getting a file compression error on the updated shapes folder. Apparently it's not a network error, because I've tried a fresh download twice. Depending on the zip utility used, I either get an invalid check sum error producing an empty folder, or an invalid compression method error producing a folder with 0Kb shape files. Thanks again for your time and assistance.

I finally had the chance to install the revised files, and everything is working as it should. Thanks again, Dick.
