Just tossing this out there - were these fresh installs or installs over existing product? Some things don't like having items installed over the top, they prefer an uninstall & reinstall. Just a thought.

I will hold off installing mine till a resolution arrives...

I've tried both ways. Over install and clean. I've been busy but I'm going to try out some experiments of my own and see what gives. First off I'm going to pick apart the 'a' bin file and try other sounds, cabviews an such and see where it goes. It crashes with all the models a,b,c,d. I'm not afraid to dig into it.

Gah I don't want to reinstall 80GB again if I install it.

So far....
I found the trouble is in the Simulation folder. I pulled out the one for the NEW version and slipped in the old one and it works! !!*ok*!!
It's one of or all the files in there. Something is malfunctioning there somewhere. I have to investigate more. Progress. *!!wink!!*

Update. It's definitely in the 2-8-2-H_Simulation.bin it's self. Just copy/pasting in the old one it works. Other files in the Simulation folder are OK.......
Investigating further. !!det!!

Found the problem. Happy dance time!!!! !*YAAA*! !*brav*!

Two lines in the Simulation.bin were pointing to the 2-8-2-L in the GreatNorthern Sim folder. If anyone has that engine then it works. I don't have that engine so it crashes game. Here are the two lines. I changed them to the proper place and all is well. !!*ok*!!

<cCSVContainer>
<CsvFile d:type="cDeltaString">Britkits\Steam\RailVehicles\USRA_2-8-2-L\GreatNorthern\Simulation\TractiveEffortVsCutoff</CsvFile>
</cCSVContainer>
</TractiveEffortVsCutoff>
<TractiveEffortLinearVsSpeed>
<cCSVContainer>
<CsvFile d:type="cDeltaString">Britkits\Steam\RailVehicles\USRA_2-8-2-L\GreatNorthern\Simulation\TractiveEffortLinearVsSpeed</CsvFile>

Britkits\Steam\RailVehicles\USRA_2-8-2-L\GreatNorthern\Simulation

(should be)

Britkits\Steam\RailVehicles\USRA_2-8-2-H\Default\Simulation

!!**sorry**!! *!embar*! *!embar*! How that slipped through I am not sure!!!!!
I have added the corrected simulation bin file to the zip file. You will need to overwrite the old one once the model is installed.
To save downloading the zip file again follow XDriver`s instructions!!

Change each occurrence of \GreatNorthern\ to \Default\

*!embar*! Dick. *!embar*!

p.s. I did have Great Northerner`s permission to use his files as thew basis for mine!!!!!!
