With the announcement of the SP AC's and the UP Sherman Hill route, (home of the 3900's & 4000's) is there by chance some steam era UP / SP rollingstock on the horizon?

Hi,

Probably not so much. I'm not very interested in modeling the UP, though I may one day do some more 1950s era freight cars in UP lettering, which I always find lacking when trying to set up scenarios on Cajon Pass.

However, I can always supply repaint templates for all my models if somebody wants to do repaints for them. So if I haven't published a template textures for a specific freight car, please just send me an email and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers,
Michael

Good Morning Michael,

I would ask you please to reconsider. I think a pure 1940's/1950's Union Pacific freight set and a heritage set for the same era (SP, SSW, D&RGW, etc.) would be hugh money makers for you. And it might even shut up all of us whiners. (No, there are lots of other things we can still whine about)

I'm doing some reskins of Michael's 40ft boxcars that include a couple of SP/T&NO liveries. Should be ready to release in a couple of days.

I understand what it would be like to me working on something that has no interest for you, but as the others have mentioned, with Sherman Hill on the horizon and the opportunity to run 4000's & 3900's as well as a rebuilt Donner Pass and the AC collection, some period UP & SP rolling stock would be a sure seller - I know I would buy :D

Any chance of talking you into reconsidering ??

!*cheers*!

Will these help?

Image

6' and 9' door 40' PS1 XM boxcars from GreatNortherner, three different slogans from the 50's/60's. it's possible to do 50 foot double doors from the same skins, so I will do them as well. All are auto-numbered with custom created UP style number fonts.

PS. The RSC3 and the CA3 Caboose are in the downloads already.

PPS. Micheal, will you send me the repaint templates for the 40 foot reefers? There is a real need for PFE dual marked (SP/UP) cars. I have both photos and model decal sheets to work from.
