This is sweet. Yet another to add to add to my collection.

NCRR has one (the family took a ride on it, great fun), and thus it will be running in my route!

If you think that is interesting, we need a few of these:

There's one similar that comes with the Isle of Wight. I have plans to a Wickham Trolley ( which is the same thing, looks rather like someone chopped a bit out of a corrugated shed & stuck an engine in it ) but lack of modelling ability atm.

What I do want now is one of those anicent railbuses that looked like... well, an ancient bus on rail wheels :p

Whoohoo, I had no idea this old engine had so many fans! !*YAAA*!

Anybody up for a public beta?

This is the doodlebug in its current state. Fully operational but with quite a few 'known issues'. But it should run fine enough to let you have some fun with it.
It installs to GreatNortherner / SteamEra.

To answer the questions:

Yes, it is a prototypical model, the original was really Montana Western 31, originally Great Northern 2313. Built in the 1920s, it ran on the Montana Western's 20-odd mile line from Conrad to Valier, MT, for quite a while.

Railbuses. Yes, that's a fascinating topic! I have some vague data collections, mostly pictures, that should be good enough a base for a freelanced model. Some day.

Cheers,
Michael
