WIP: Early 20th Century NP Rolling Stock

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Wed Oct 13, 2010 2:11 pm

Colleagues,

Some new work-in-progress information. Inspired by Dick Cowen's new steam locos, I started working again on some old models, and built some new ones while I was at it. So now... a large pack of late 19th / early 20th century rolling stock is almost done. Most cars are modeled based on NP prototypes. Including tankcars, hoppers, boxcars, flatcars and a caboose, with more to come -- like a second version of my skeleton logcar (with arch bar trucks).

Coming soon:

The little engine is Cecil Kerr's beta-version 2-8-0.

Cheers!

Keep cranking them out and I'll keep buying them. :-)

Michael,

You are the 'Gaetan' of RailWorks !!*ok*!! --the scope and quality of your contribution is never-ending. There is not one activity in my arsenal that doesn't include something from your stable--past or present.

Keep 'em comin...

Thanks everybody!

Here are some more screen shots as progress continues on the cars.

Two more cars are now done: the tankcars and my redone skeleton logcar. Now with better textures, lettering, bump and spec mapping, and a new log load.

Also did a GN repaint of the generic 36ft boxcar, couldn't resist.

Image
Two models, single and quad dome 8k gallon tank, each in two versions of weathering

Image
A really small car! It even looks small when coupled next to the 36ft boxcar, which itself is not exactly a big car

Image
The skeleton logcar - a freelanced model, the main shape is identical to the one I built for Railsim a long time ago

Image
and a new log load for it to replace the Kuju logs "with the ribbon"

Image
And finally, the GN 36ft boxes.

Cheers!

Hi,

The first two car sets are now available, I just uploaded the skeleton logcars and the generic 36ft boxcars to my website.
Both packs are available to you all as freeware items. I also uploaded a PSD-repaint template for the boxcars, hope some of you will find that useful.

Downloads are here:

Hey Michael,

is it planned to release your great models on steam in the future? I think this would be more comfortable for us customers and would open up new customers to your models.
Just an idea. !*salute*!
